Location: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Palma, Gomera, Fuerteventura: locally common on rocks and cliffs in te lower zone and forest regions. Frequent on the north coast of Tenerife, Teneo and at Guimar.Specie: Up to 4m. Densely branched. Leaves leathery, glossy. Inflorescence cymose. Flowers small, pale greenish-yellow. Fruit pale greenish to light brown, globose, 3-celled, dehiscent. Seeds chestnut-brown, oval with a white, fluffy aril forming a basal cup.
Genre: Shrubs with entife, coriaceous, remotely serrulate leaves. Flowers 5-parted, regular. Capsules 3-locular. Seeds brown with whitish aril at base.
Family: Trees or shrubs. Leaves simple. Inflorescence cymose. Flowers hermaphrodite, regular, 5-parted. Fruit a 3-locular capsule. Seeds arillate.
